Welcome to Aultnagar!
An Orcadian family welcome awaits you in our recently refurbished Bed & Breakfast accommodation. Whether staying for business or pleasure our home from home offers you a relaxing space to unwind after a busy day exploring or working on our beautiful Island.
Aultnagar is situated on the outskirts of Kirkwall with spectacular views over the town, golf course, harbour, and countryside towards the north isles.
The house has a private guest entrance into the dining room with a stairway leading to the bedrooms on the first floor. Guests have exclusive use of the dining room and shared use of the garden with outdoor furniture; to relax and enjoy the peacefulness, sunrises, sunsets and scenery.

Local Orkney Produce
Continental style breakfast foods will be provided for self service.
Local Orkney produce sourced including butter, milk, breads, cheese, traditional oatcakes and biscuits . Also cereal & fruit with juices, tea & coffee etc all available in the guest dining room for guests to help themselves.
Breakfast available until 0930 weekdays and 1000 at weekends (later times may be possible on request)
Please inform us of any special dietary requirements on booking.
The guest dining room is equipped with a kettle, toaster, microwave, oven and fridge/freezer for guest use to prepare your own snacks. Enjoy these or takeaways whilst taking in the amazing views over the town.
There is space in the cupboards and fridge/freezer to store your items.

The standard double en-suite bedroom overlooks farmland and Wideford Hill. Afternoon sunshine and evening sunset.
Twin or Kingsize
This is the front bedroom overlooking the town and golf course. This spacious en-suite room can be prepared with twin beds or as a super-kingsize room. Wake up to morning sunrise and summer sunshine.

The town bus route 9 passes the door (daytime) or a 25 minute walk into town where you can access transport for touring the mainland or ferries to visit the outer isles.
Overlooking Orkney golf club which is a short walk/drive away.

Perfect location to explore Orkney! Modern; warm and welcoming!
The perfect place to stay on Orkney! Warm and welcoming hospitality; bright, modern and beautifully appointed; comfy room; delish breakfast – local cheeses, fresh fruit and amazing fresh baked cheese scones. The”kitchen /dining” area is great to relax after a full day of exploring Orkney or after dinner. Our hosts, Laura and Brian, could not have been more pleasant and helpful. Perfect location! p.s. our room was wonderful but our travel mates had the room with the water view…. wow!
I wish we could have stayed longer!

Arrival & Departure
Arrivals from 1500 – Departures by 1000.
Late arrivals from the Aberdeen/Shetland ferry are welcome. We suggest booking a taxi to bring you to the house if you are traveling as a foot passenger on these routes.
Please give your approximate arrival time during correspondence before your stay. We hope to be at home to welcome you although there is a keybox should we be out. We aim to be as flexible as possible to accommodate alternative check-in and departure requests.

Travel/Parking
Car parking for one vehicle per room, parking at guests own risk. Outside storage is available for push bikes, golf equipment etc at guests own risk.
The town bus service 9 passes the house, or a 25 minute walk, into the centre of Kirkwall for connecting bus services for exploring the mainland or ferries for visiting our isles.

Terms
Completion of the booking form and payment by the lead person, aged over 18, confirms agreement to these terms. Under Scottish law reservations are legally binding.
The full amount payable for your stay is required at least 10 full days prior to your date of arrival. We reserve the right to cancel the booking should the full payment not be completed by the due date.
Please notify us in writing if cancelling your booking. If the booking is cancelled or the length of stay reduced less than 5 full days before the date of arrival no refund will be given.
If Aultnagar, due to unforeseen circumstances, cannot fulfil your booking, we will give a full refund and try our utmost to find alternative accommodation for you. However we are not liable for any additional costs.
We recommend guests have adequate travel insurance in place prior to your intended trip to cover travel disruptions or unexpected situations.
No smoking within Aultnagar, in line with Scottish legislation, garden area permitted for smoking.
No stag/hen parties.
No pets.
